Ben Tianavaig is a distinctive terracotta-coloured house within the Portree conservation area. We look out over Portree Harbour with panoramic views of the Red Cuillin, Ben Tianavaig hill, and beyond Loch Portree, to the Isle of Raasay.
We are a minute's walk from the Square, the centre of Portree - the main bus stop, restaurants, bars & pubs, gift shops/galleries, banks and a well-stocked supermarket, are all easily accessible from the B&B.
One of the best things about staying at a B&B is that you're welcomed into someone's home - this offers a more personal experience such as first-hand knowledge of what the island offers and a delicious home-cooked breakfast (so we're told). We think it's this combination that leads our guests to recommend us to friends & family and to many returning to stay with us again.
Please bear in mind the following things when booking your stay with us as B&Bs don't suit everyone's needs:
- We ask you to remove shoes when you come into the house.
- We have shared dining facilities - you may be seated at the large table with other guests. We encourage people to talk to one another, indeed most guests value this as part of the experience of staying with us.
- We have a friendly cocker spaniel called Dolly (pictured). She is part of the family and is allowed in the dining room (our living area) during the day.

We get great reviews for our breakfast, we offer a daily special and cater for all dietary requirements, including vegetarian as well as dairy and gluten free. Please let us know in advance if you have special dietary needs so we can make sure we have the foods you require.
We have private off-road parking opposite the house for up to 3 cars. This operates on a first-come first served basis. Until the end of October 2018, we have 4 guest rooms so can’t guarantee everyone will be able to use our parking if there are 4 cars. There are car parks a few minutes walk from the house.
